Another Domino Falls

Amazing how this works. One domino falls and then another in Iraq.
Read about it here.

Eleven Sunni insurgent groups have offered an immediate halt to all attacks _
including those on American troops _ if the United States agrees to withdraw
foreign forces from Iraq in two years, insurgent and government officials told
The Associated Press on Wednesday.

That's it in a nutshell. Big step. Two years is a long time. Long enough ffor more stability in the country.

Just a thought.

You never know. They may, subject to the absence of violence, agree to some distant date. I really don't think that would be good policy, however, given the 84 tribes of nuts in the area. Then again, elections make strange bedfellows.

I don't think the US should negotiate any kind of timetable. The timetable needs to be set (and probably already is) by the President and the D.o.D, and kept secret so as not to tip the hand to the terrorists.

Deadlines seem counterproductive to this sort of endeavor I think...

Yup.

My goodness, you are all right! Yup, in another two years we'll be "rounding the corner in Iraq." Or not.

You can read what you read and belive the dominos are falling or you can read real coverage of the Iraq and realize that the dominos are just beginning to fall.

One way or the other my beloved GOPers, the war _is_ going to be with us two years from now.
