John McCain Doesn't Get It
But Ann Coulter clearly does.
It turns out, the only reason McCain is demanding that prisoners like Khalid
Sheikh Mohammed — mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, the beheading of journalist
Daniel Pearl and other atrocities — be treated like Martha Stewart facing an
insider trading charge is this: "It's all about the United States of America and
what is going to happen to Americans who are taken prisoner in future wars."
Being nice has never worked. It hasn't worked raising your children and it hasn't worked with the criminal element. It hasn't worked and there is no indication it ever will. Ann gets it.
But being nice to enemies is an idea that has never worked, no matter how many
times liberals make us do it. It didn't work with the Soviet Union, Imperial
Japan, Hitler or the North Vietnamese — enemies notable for being more civilized
than the Islamic savages we are at war with today.
Yeah, Ann can get a bit carried away from time to time. But, she is fun to read and seems to understand this issue quite clearly.
Just an observation.

Nah.
It boils down to: You attacked us and killed many of our countrymen. We will do everything in our power to stop you from doing it again - permanently if possible.
If cranking up some Red Hot Chili Peppers is going to be called torture, I wonder what they will call suicide bombings, hijackings, and beheadings. Maybe "humane treatment"?
Seems likely given this crowd of imbeciles on the Left.

I don't think it's necessary in any way, shape or form to degrade ourselves not to be nice to prisoners (detainees in the p.c. world). No matter how nice we are or how honorable we are these folks are never going to compare. They behead people and video it for broadcast. Their values are totally different. That isn't going to change. Eventually, they will push to the point of a major confrontation. Until then, we'll have what we have.
By responding in kind to these terrorists, we have honored those who fought for our freedom in all of our previous conflicts.
We would be degrading ourselved had we just sat idly by like we had done for 25 years. At some point, you just have to fight back. Pacifism has never won a war, nor has it ever stopped a terrorist.
I will stand firm that to defend oneself against an aggressive enemy is morally superior to the belligerent slaughter of innocents. Yes, Beef, we ARE morally superior to the terrorists. Of course, so is pond scum. Our actions ARE justified, and we are not denegrading or embarrassing ourselves by doing so. The ones being dengraded and embarrassed are those who are too stupid/naive to understand that terrorism will only be beaten by destroying the terrorists and/or their will to fight.
We ARE fighting the terrorists with honor, just as we did Hitler and Mussolini. The dishonorable ones are the French, who side with the terrorists at every turn, the Spanish, who cut and run, and those who would do the same.
Quite frankly, I don't give a rat's ass how many more Islamofascist Jihadists show their ugly faces. Better that they do it now so that we can kill them and be done with it - BEFORE they kill more of us again, which WILL happen. The underlying cause - the spread of Islamofascist philosophy in the world - is being dealt with. Their excuses (the Pope calling a spade a spade, Israel's existence) are just that - excuses. The reason they do what they do, Beef, is to force everyone in the world. including you and me, to convert to their sorry excuse for a religion.
Your position begs the question - What will you do when they put the sword to YOUR throat? That's exactly what they plan to do, Israel or no Israel.
