Iraq & Terrorism Linked Again

Ol' BC recognizes that the Bush bashers continue to try to separate the Iraq situation and the battle against terror in the world. However, the Iraqi government's chief spokesman reiterated the connection in this AP article.

Speaking about Thursday's blasts in London that killed more than 50 people,
Laith Kubba said "we don't know exactly who carried out these acts but it is
clear that these networks used to be in Afghanistan and now they work in Iraq."

"We don't know exactly who enters Iraq then leaves to carry out attacks with explosives around the world," he told The Associated Press.

It will be interesting to see if this gets any network news play. There's a good chance that Admiral Ted Kennedy of the SS Oldsmobile will reconfirm for all of us shortly that there is no connection between Iraq and the war on terror.

It really doesn't matter if one supports the Iraq effort or not. It has long been known by those in Iraq that the nutso Islamic extremists have worked out of that country in varying degrees for years and years.

Just an observation.

hmmm, any chance the MSM picks up on this> I don't see the temperature of hell dropping and pigs aren't in the air so I guess not.

You're missing the point. It's the Bush bashers perpetual "there's no connection" argument that is being shot down. Even those of us who aren't huge Bush fans can see the connection. I just don't think the media and some in Congress want to acknowledge it.

Loin,

Are you a satire troll, or just an idiot who can't read?

If you could read, you'd know that a Clinton appointee to the Federal bench has ruled that Iraq provided material assistance to al-Qaeda. Sorry, pal- burden of proof met in Federal court. I'd say that's a connection.

Then there's the fascinating Ahmed Hikmat Shakir, who is a clear connection between Iraq and the 9/11 hijackers themselves. You'd have to be exceedingly stupid to be unaware of these connections.
Maybe you don't want to know this stuff, but the people who want America to win do.
Whether the myriad and practically innumerable connections to terror were part of Saddam's policy, or the work of rogue elements within his government is immaterial-- yes, we should fight every country that supports Islamism and its terrorist practitioners.

Every dog has his day, remember?

Loin,

Your problem is that you have absolutely zero historical perspective. Go read the 3 holy texts of Islam, and then study the history of Jihad, and maybe you'll have an argument against militarily destroying any nation that harbors them. You also need to read a few reputable studies on terrorists themselves- they are the opposite of "disenfranchised peoples", you twit. You left out the real reason for the war being waged against the civilized world by Islam-- the Koran. That's the "reason" you're going to have to take away from them. Frankly, your contention that terrorists only act out of a sense of "disenfranchisement" is rather racist-- don't you thnk they're capable of having their own reasons, and not simply reacting to our presence?

As a wise man once said,

"Peace sells...but who's buying?"

sir, tell me were Nazism, Facism, Communism, etc beat peacefully? Remember Neville Chamberlin "Peace in our time!" Obviously thats what you want us to do. The war on terror is winnable and we need to keep at it. When people blow themselves up and kill civilians in the name of religion there is NO REASONING WITH THEM! They must be killed and not only them but their entire bloodline. Wipe out the extremeists and problem solved. But I forgot we obviously cannot judge...

And another thing:

Enough of this "War on Terror" bullshit-- it's a war on Islamism.
