Indiana, Iowa and Missouri Floods

While contemplating Justice Stevens' idiocy and applauding the SCOTUS on the second amendment ruling Ol' BC has been somewhat busy recently. I did, however, not feel so good about the child rapist ruling the SCOTUS boys handed down. There has been a funny (even if you are a wild eyed liberal it's funny) e-mail circulating and I'm putting it below for you pleasure (humor is pleasurable, not the floods we endured) or loathing (if you're a wild eyed liberal).

Where are all of the Hollywood celebrities holding telethons asking for
help in restoring Iowa and helping the folks affected by the floods?
Where is all the media asking the tough questions about why the
federal government hasn't solved the problem? Asking where the FEMA trucks
(and trailers) are? Why isn't the Federal Government
relocating Iowa people to free hotels in Chicago ? When will
Spike Lee say that the Federal Government blew up the levees that failed
in Des Moines ? Where are Sean Penn and the Dixie Chicks?
Where are all the looters stealing high-end tennis shoes and big
screen television sets? When will we hear Governor Chet Culver say
that he wants to rebuild a 'vanilla' Iowa , because that's the way God
wants it? Where is the hysterical 24/7 media coverage complete with
reports of cannibalism? Where are the people declaring that George Bush
hates white, rural people? How come in 2 weeks, you will never
hear about the Iowa flooding ever again?

Hmmm. Just food for conversation. In Ol' BC's neck of the woods the hospital still has two floors drying out and patients are in contiguous county hospitals and the ER is operating from a portable ER trailer unit. There is a strip mall with no stores reopened yet. A ton of houses have been declared a total loss as have a number of cars and trucks. It will be months before repairs can be completed for whose who can afford it. Auto insurance claims have been handled in various manners. Those who just carried liability are hurt again. Fortunately, Ol' BC resides on the high ground. Tragedy is tragedy. It doesn't matter if it's a "chocolate city" or a mixed box like so many cities that suffered in the heartland.

Just a thought.

This is an excellent point, BC. It effectively points out the hypocrisy of the Hollywood leftists. And, I'm sure you're right about the news fading away in a few days, leaving this unfortunate incident to be remembered only by those who were there.

You know, Colonel, the amazing thing is that we still hear about New Orleans weekly or so.
