Jimmy Carter Apologizes To Israel

. . .sort of.

"We must not permit criticisms for improvement to stigmatize Israel," Carter
said in the letter, which was first sent to JTA, a wire service for Jewish
newspapers, and provided Wednesday to The Associated Press. "As I would have
noted at Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, but which is appropriate at any time of
the year, I offer an Al Het for any words or deeds of mine that may have done

He never said he was sorry for siding with the terrorist Palestinians. He is just trying to smooth things over with the Jewish community. It was more than likely a result of his grandson running for a Georgia state Senate seat.

Here's the article. It would still be much better if Jimma would just shut up.

Just a thought.

Illinois To Get Gitmo Terrorists

Looks like the Gitmo terrorists are going to be residing in the Land of Lincoln according to this leaked memo.

Gates is directed to publish the memo in the Federal Register. This was done quietly to say the least. Ol' BC wonders if we'll hear any of this on the news any time soon.

Just a thought.

Separation Of Church And State

Ol' BC thinks this is more what the founders had in mind. Not whether a ten commandments plaque was displayed on public ground.

While the Chinese constitution guarantees freedom of religion, Christians are
required to worship in churches run by state-controlled organizations: The
Three-Self Patriotic Movement for Protestants and the Chinese Patriotic Catholic
Association for Roman Catholics.

Freedom of religion? Eerily reminds one of the Church of England. I haven't read enough British history to see if government thugs knocked down churches and brutalized attendees, but then again, this is China.

Just an observation.

Turn A Theory Into Fact?

Who among us would actually think that a politician might try to turn a possible theory into a fact? Hmmm. Here's one. Denmark's Speaker of Parliament.

“The problem is that lots of people go around saying that the climate change we see is a result of human activity. That is a very dangerous claim,” Parliamentary Speaker and former Finance Minister Thor Pedersen (Lib) tells DR.

Isn't there a big climate hurrah in Denmark coming up? Any chance Thor Pedersen will get any podium time? Not really?

Just an observation.
