James Robertson Has Lost His Mind

Here's another example of the courts gone mad.

U.S. District Judge James Robertson ordered the Treasury Department to find ways
for the blind to tell bills apart.

You know where this could go. Law suits filed against famous artists. Not being able to see shouldn't prohibit one from enjoying the best of the art world. Lawsuits filed against car makers. After all, just being blind shouldn't prohibit one from driving to the grocery to spend his multi-sized money . They are going to have to make cars that "drive" themselves so those who can't see can sit behind the wheel too.

It hasn't been that long ago a blind friend of mine told me how he put his money in specific order so he could find the right denominations easily. That, however, may be way too logical for today's courts. Then again, Ol' BC has a problem drawing the line from one person being born with a disability to the government discriminating against that person when the government hasn't changed anything since this country's inception based on prejudice or partiality with regard to our money. It is as it always has been. Not all people have equal abilities. If they did, Ol' BC would have had an NBA or MLB career. Where was Judge Robertson when I needed him?

Democrats Like Earmarks Too

Ol' BC has been whining for some time now about our current president spending money like the Democrats. Well, the Democrats have have every intention of continuing the practice.

Sen. Daniel Inouye of Hawaii is set to chair the Senate defense appropriations
subcommittee, which presides over the largest single source of discretionary
spending and earmarks. He said recently: "I don’t see any monumental changes”
regarding earmarks.

When George Wallace ran for president as an Independent his slogan was, "not a dime's worth of difference."

Hasn't changed since the 60's.

Richards' Rant Reaction...Money!

Sticks and stones can break my bones but words .... let's see here....WORDS CAN COST YOU MONEY. This article ,among various and sundry others, points out part of the problem in our society. People want something for nothing.

Allred, speaking by phone from Colorado, said Richards should meet McBride and
Doss in front of a retired judge to “acknowledge his behavior and to apologize
to them” and allow the judge to decide on monetary compensation.

Allow the judge to decide monetary compensation. Allow the judge to decide monetary compensation. These "victims" have hired an attorney seeking - you got it- money. Of course there is a little blurb about another apology from time to time. But in real life, it's the money!

Wow! How sensitive our society has become. At least when the opportunity to extort money is involved.

Happy Thanksgiving!

As Ol' BC prepares the big meal for later this evening (as kids grow the number of stops increases), he is reminded of the Pilgrims and Governor Bradford and their hardships as they landed and made a life in America. It is doubtful that Bradford will ever be considered an American hero, but he should. You see, it was Bradford who shitcanned the early communal experiment due to perpetual failure and created the free enterprise system in this country and thus the abundance we enjoy. His writings are truly enlightening. They should be taught in our schools as well as the Indian history since they go hand in hand.

Why in the world people want to continue to try communism and socialism is beyond me. It has been a consistent failure since the early 1600's.

Bringing Back The Draft?

One soon to be very powerful democrat wants to.

Here it says -

New York Democratic Rep. Charles Rangel, who is in line to chair the House Ways
and Means Committee next year, has renewed his call for the draft, saying the
war in Iraq is being fought by American soldiers who disproportionately are from
low-income families and minorities.
Over the weekend, Rangel said he would
seek passage next year of the universal draft legislation he has long sought.
"If we're going to challenge Iran and challenge North Korea and then, as some
people have asked, to send more troops to Iraq, we can't do that without a
draft," Rangel said on CBS' "Face the Nation" on Sunday.

For some reason a vast majority of the news sites and broadcasts have missed this story. Imagine that.

That's what Iranian newspaper editorials say according to this article quoting the newspapers. Those who love freedom better begin to wake up. Hello?
The world is being warned as the Muslims call on followers to "prepare."

It added: "For the first time in the 60 years of its disgraceful life, the
Zionist regime - the West's beloved in the Middle East - tasted the taste of
defeat, and the citizens of this regime trembled at the menace of Hizbullah's
missiles… The nation of Muslims must prepare for the great war, so as to
completely wipe out the Zionist regime, and remove this cancerous growth. Like
the Imam (Ayatollah) Khomeini said: 'Israel must collapse.'"

I wonder how they really feel.

Diversity, No It's Racism

While bouncing around reading blogs and columns, I ran across this.
It's a Jonah Goldberg column saying what Ol' BC has been saying for years.

Quite an interesting observation. Definitely not a subject many wish to discuss.

It is a good column and worth taking a minute or so to read.

“What’s happening is one segment of the minority population is losing places to
another segment of minorities, namely Asians to underrepresented minorities.”Li
points to a study conducted by two Princeton academics last year which concluded
that if you got rid of racial preferences in higher education, the number of
whites admitted to schools would remain fairly constant. However, without racial
preferences, Asians would take roughly 80 percent of the positions now allotted
to Hispanic and black students.

Now get this. Li filed a civil rights suit since Princeton rejected him and has subsequently been admitted. (Imagine that.)

In other words, there is a quota — though none dare call it that — keeping
Asians out of elite schools in numbers disproportionate to their merit. This is
the same sort of quota once used to keep Jews out of the Ivy League — not
because of their lack of qualifications, but because having too many Jews would
change the “feel” of, say, Harvard or Yale. Today, it’s the same thing, only
we’ve given that feeling a name: diversity.

Yep, diversity. (Racism to those denied.) Those who speak of diversity never seem to have much of an answer when asked for some of the benefits. They suddenly get quiet. Those discriminated against can discuss the subject much more easily.

GOP Lost Its Way

This article tells of much. Here's an example Ol' BC has spoken of many many times.

In 1987, President Ronald Reagan vetoed a highway bill because it had 152
earmarks. In 2005, President Bush signed a transportation bill with 6,371
earmarks.

No wonder Bush became the biggest spending president of all time. Between that and the power grabs, it's no wonder the Donks gained control. The media did play a role with their misrepresentation of the Iraq situation. But, the GOP played a bigger role with their disregard of the principles that got them there.

Iraq Strategy To Be Examined

Is this the beginning of Somalia round two? Are we going to leave those who count on us high and dry?

The Pentagon is conducting a major review of the military's Iraq strategy to
determine "what's going wrong and should be changed"

Ol' BC is of the belief that in a time of war, there should be a perpetual study. That seems to me like a key part of running a war. If one is getting his ass handed to him, he may want to try something different. If you get them on the run, you may want to turn up the heat. Just being semi-logical may take this country a long way towards peace.

Asked by one interviewer whether the United States is winning the war in Iraq,
Pace replied: "You have to define 'winning.' I don't mean to be glib about
that.
"Winning, to me, is simply having each of the nations that we're trying
to help have a secure environment inside of which their government and people
can function," he said, in remarks that seemed to depart significantly from the
administration's more ambitious stated goal of building a thriving democracy in
Iraq.

I guess that's one way of saying we don't have the backbone to see this through. Osama's recruiting just improved. "America is a paper tiger. They don't have the stomach for war." Osama is looking more and more like he's got it figured out. That is what he said after we pissed backwards in Somalia. What will he say after this fiasco?

Ol' BC can assure you of one thing. There are no sanitary wars. People die. Innocent people die. End it quickly and deaths are fewer. There may be more per day, but fewer. The Iraqis can police a vast majority of the country with minimal support. Maybe we should flood Baghdad with troops and turn up the heat. If all else fails...hmmmm...parking lot?

After The Dust Settles...

...will anything really be different? The Donks won a few seats as is almost always the case in year six. There are questions all over the place. Will the GOP rush any legislation through while they still have a majority? NO. They haven't been able to or wouldn't do anything for six years of Dubya, why would the last couple of months of a majority position change anything?

Will the Donks make Iraq the new Somalia and reinforce the terrorists recruiting message? That could happen. When it does, we will have lost all credibility with those in the middle east who want away from Islamic dictators. We pissed up our back after the first gulf war and tens of thousands were killed by Saddam as a result. We'll never get any help over there again if we flee Iraq before the government stabilizes.

After the dust settles, maybe people will see that the media in this country hoodwinked the general population like has never been done and may never be done again. Ol' BC is near the base where those returning from Iraq are checked in. The soldiers returning never depict the picture the media in this country paints. It seems the vast majority of Iraqis are genuinely appreciative of our efforts and make no bones about it.

Are taxes going to go up? MOST LIKELY. My guess is the Donks will just let the current cuts expire so they can run saying they didn't increase taxes. However, they may still increase them.

After the dust settles, will Bush quit trying to pacify the left and stand up for what is good for this country? NOT LIKELY. He's managed to outspend them to now. Who knows what will transpire after the dust settles from the election?

Saddam To Hang

Ol' BC was wondering if they would actually come to this determination. Last I heard was the judge was favorable to Saddam every time a ruling was issued. A vast majority of Iraq is tickled pink. There are a few of the old Sunni clan that may be upset. Iran is happy. Kuwait is happy. The whole area will be happy to get rid of this guy. Peace prospects in Iraq will improve. Oh, by the way, guess who isn't happy... this article says ...... it's ....the.... Palestinians! Surprised? The terrorist state of the Palestinians (who don't really have a state, but that's another story). Who could be surprised? They are cut out of the same cloth and for some reason the left wants to try to pacify these nutcases. Actually, I think Israel could handle the situation (and not by giving them land to attack from) if the good Ol' U.S. would quit tying their hands.

Those who are mourning the verdict speak volumes.

Election - 2006

If the Democrats don't run roughshod over the GOP in the November 7 elections, they can blame part of it on this. Hell, they still whine about losing Ohio two years ago. I seriously doubt that they will blame it on fewer Donks getting to vote illegally due to identification laws, but they may. You just never know. We have a bunch of congressional races too close to call in this area. If the GOP wins a couple of them, no telling what we'll hear.
