LPGA Takes A Stand

Out of the blue this comes along. In an era of runaway political correctness this comes at a most opportune time. The Ladies Professional Golf Association is now standing tall among massive criticism.

Beginning next year, the Ladies Professional Golf Association will test players
for English proficiency. The un-proficient, no matter how low their handicaps,
will face suspension.

Well, handicaps have nothing to do with it. These are professional women. They have the best of abilities of women around the world. So. . .what's the problem? Many will ask this question.

You've got to be kidding," said Grace Yoo, executive director of the Korean
American Coalition in Los Angeles. "How can this occur in this day and age?
We're pretty outraged."

Of course "they" are.

I want to know the details," she said. "What's the correlation between English
proficiency and success in sports?"

In short. There is none. It's not about English proficiency and success in sports. Hell, look at the Olympics every four years. What's the matter with these people? It's business man. The tour has become so international that communication can become an issue. Pro-ams are big business. People pay big money to play one round with the pro. They would like to be able to converse with her as the round progresses. Advertisers who pay millions of dollars would like the public to be able to understand it when the winner thanks the sponsors. That's big money that provides all the opportunity these golfers seek from all over the world. They want to suck in the big bucks. At least they should be willing to lend a hand in the success of each event and of the LPGA so the tour prospers and there is opportunity for future players and generations. TV ratings and advertising revenues are a huge part of the money for which they play.

But then again that may not be politically correct. Someone may have to put forth some effort to assure her opportunity for prosperity. To Ol' BC this doesn't sound illogical.

Just a thought.

Ol' BC Nailed It!!

Ol' BC nailed it months ago. Look back to May 10th. Ol' BC posted that there would be no Hillary Clinton on the Democrats' presidential ticket. Yep, Ol' BC still has it.

Oh, by the way, the reason? Michelle Obama. She hates Hitlery. So we get the Joe Biden whose memory fades rather dramatically at critical times (see post below).

Just a thought.

Joe Biden - Bad Memory, Misstates Facts, V.P.?

This New York Times piece has many conservatives praying he'll be B. Hussein Obama's vice-presidential selection. Wow! This could be a field day for average Americans and have the left squirming steadily until election day.

Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. issued a formal statement today acknowledging that he
had misstated several facts about his past last April in a campaign appearance
in New Hampshire.

And also. . .

The tape, which was made available by C-SPAN in response to a reporter's
request, showed a testy exchange in response to a question about his law school
record from a man identified only as ''Frank.'' Mr. Biden looked at his
questioner and said: ''I think I have a much higher I.Q. than you do.''
He
then went on to say that he ''went to law school on a full academic scholarship
- the only one in my class to have a full academic scholarship,'' Mr. Biden
said. He also said that he ''ended up in the top half'' of his class and won a
prize in an international moot court competition. In college, Mr. Biden said in
the appearance, he was ''the outstanding student in the political science
department'' and ''graduated with three degrees from college.'' Comments on
Assertions
In his statement today, Mr. Biden, who attended the Syracuse
College of Law and graduated 76th in a class of 85, acknowledged: ''I did not
graduate in the top half of my class at law school and my recollection of this
was inacurate.''
As for receiving three degrees, Mr. Biden said: ''I
graduated from the University of Delaware with a double major in history and
political science. My reference to degrees at the Claremont event was intended
to refer to these majors - I said 'three' and should have said 'two.' '' Mr.
Biden received a single B.A. in history and political science.

In case you weren't paying attention, reread that. All indications are it was a blatant lie. He also had some erroneous recollections about his financial aid. It's not big news that the left invents facts more than the right (see global warming hoax), but Senator Biden is perhaps the leading candidate to be on the ticket with B. Hussein.

Just an observation.

McCain Coming Around

Ol' BC caught a couple of McCain spots recently addressing economic growth, energy and jobs. Has he been reading Ol' BC? A couple of posts down I said he needed to move in this direction and quit talking about the surge. Everybody knows the surge worked. Look forward Johnny Mac!

Just an observation.
